Dyslexia. Learning difficulty or Creative Superpower?

  • Date: 19th October, 2021
  • Venue: Online events

When talent from dyslexic and neurodiverse people is
nurtured and supported amazing things can happen, not only for the individual
but for your business too! So why is it viewed in such a negative light?

Despite the potential of this creative superpower, there are
still many structural barriers to people who receive a diagnosis and many
practices that really don’t support a range of neuro-diverse needs.

It is estimated that 10% of the UK population is dyslexic,
think of all that raw, out of the box creative thinking ready to be released
into the world. So, what can we as employers, facilitators and providers of
cultural experiences do to support? How do we, find ways to learn and see
beyond the label, and what practices can we employ that make it easier to deal
with the challenges Dyslexia presents?

Confirmed speakers include, Rose Goodship, Creative Producer
at Reg Projects Ltd; Oliver West, Developer of Footnotes Visual Multi-layered
Thinking Programme and Shawn Brown, Presenter and Inventor at Kids Invent
Stuff.
