Fab City Plymouth: Quarterly Get-Together

  • Date: 22nd October, 2021
  • Venue: Plymouth - Market Hall
Networking event

In 2019 Plymouth successfully applied to join the global Fab City network. A network 34 cities worldwide committed to producing near everything they consume by 2054.

Plymouth is the first UK city to do so.

While COVID-19 delayed Fab City Plymouth over 2020, it also did something else more important, it underlined the importance of local self-sufficiency, mutual aid and innovation – this is what Fab City is all about. COVID also shone a light on and highlighted the key challenges of age – inequalities and the ever-looming environmental breakdown and climate disaster.

Challenges to which the Fab City movement seeks to bring practical solutions.

In July 2021 we celebrated the launch of the Fab City Plymouth Forum and website and committed to creating a space to come together and discuss the issues we face, local-level solutions, and groups already delivering change as we aim to produce a more circular economy.

This meeting is an informal chance to come together to find out more, meet others, and discuss.

Everyone is welcome, Fab City belongs to everyone in Plymouth. Join communities from across the city to find out more about Fab Cities and help shape what this can mean for Plymouth.

Fab City is early-stage supported by founding partners Plymouth CulturePlymouth College of ArtPlymouth City CouncilPlymouth University and the Real Ideas Organisation, with kind support from Power to Change.
