Suitable for all ages but loosely aimed at 5 – 11 year olds.

12 spaces available per workshop

Timings: 10am & 2pm

We recommend booking both morning and afternoon session together to really learn and collaborate during the day!

Following on from our popular monthly Junior Print Club, we are pleased to launch a series of print fun days across the summer holidays as part of Print in Action

You'll be able to explore the creative world of print in a dedicated space. Using collage, texture and a diversity of mark making effects in a variety of print. We will explore tone, colour, shape and composition in making safe, child friendly printing processes.

You'll be able to pick and choose which sessions you'd like your child to join, morning, afternoon or both!

Who is this workshop for?

These sessions are for beginners or children that would like to play, have a refresh, or develop skills.

Can I drop my children off for the day?

Please stay within the Ocean Studios vicinity, you're welcome to catch-up or co-work with friends in our cafe. We do have a Members coworking space on site for those who might need to take some time to work.

You're welcome to support your child during session if suitable, if you have a child under 5 who would like to have a play but doesn't quite reach the 5-11, they can join in but please make sure they are supervised.

What is Print in Action?

#Printinaction2022 brings printmakers from Plymouth and beyond together, revealing incredible talent, and celebrating print in its inspiring forms. Led by the community of printmakers at Ocean Studios and starting in April 2022.

Print in Action is a six-month programme of workshops, masterclasses, talks and discussions, culminating in a three-day festival from 21st – 23rd October 2022. For more information please visit realideas.org/print-in-action/

We are an environmentally conscious organisation and encourage our visitors to prioritise green travel. Please consider getting the bus, cycling or walking to visit us. There are plenty of space for bikes within Royal William Yard to and lots of options to utilise public transport. More information on bus routes and car parks nearby can be found here –

If you do need to drive to attend your event then there are lots of pay and display spaces available.

When arriving at Royal William Yard you’ll need to look out for signage to Factory Cooperage, Ocean Studios can be found just a few meters away from the red telephone box situated opposite the Club House. Please enter the building via the courtyard space and through the glass doors.

When leaving the building at night please be respectful and consider residents living nearby.

Accessibility

Ocean Studios has an accessible entrance however some areas are uneven due to heritage restrictions. We have worked hard to create an accessible building, Ocean Studios has accessible toilet facilities and lift access to upper floors. Blue badge parking is available throughout the Royal William Yard – please advise us of any additional needs so we can make your visit enjoyable and comfortable.

Heritage Restrictions
Whilst we work to ensure the building is fully accessible to all, we are limited by the heritage building and land in which we work. The listed building and historic location have certain constraints which unfortunately we cannot avoid or adapt.

Where possible we have improved accessibility however please be aware that areas of Royal William Yard and our buildings has uneven ground and narrow steps with may limit access to wheelchairs and prams.
